The Real Base of the Democratic Party

We now see the outcome of listening to the dopes like Susan Sarandon who said there was no real difference between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. However, they don't want to own the stupidity they exhibited in the lead up to the 2016 election.

As a Black Woman who is about to celebrate her 58th birthday I consider myself part of the real base of the Democratic Party.  96% of Black Women voted for Hillary Clinton. 53% of college educated White Women voted for Trump.  So somebody tell me why in the Hell am I going to listen to this group telling me how my Party needs to change.

As the Mother of a Millennial here's my message to them. If they haven't figured out yet that pouting about Bernie losing the primary and sitting home on their asses and not voting didn't work out, it's time to get their heads out of their asses.   I keep hearing people pandering to this group saying it's time for them to lead and we need young leaders.  Well I tell you what!  Until these young voters can show me that they will show up and vote in local and state elections as well as the mid terms and not just Presidential elections, then I'm not standing aside for them. As I've said before I'm so over hearing that the kids won't vote if we don't excite them. If losing their damn healthcare and Reproductive Rights doesn't excite them then they're not ready to lead.

There are clearly young people who are engaged and practical about the political process and don't pout and give up if things don't all go their way.  My daughter has seem me voting and being involved since she was a little kid and she is doing voter drives and speaking out now on her own.

As much as I love Joe Biden, I completely disagree with him and Bernie about chasing after white working class voters.  This group has been voting against their own interests for over 20 years and they are like the modern day Dixiecrats.  I'm not following for this trap. If these people aren't smart enough to see that the Republicans are only interested in tax cuts for the rich then they can't be helped.

Bernie Sanders saying that the Democrats need to stop identity politics is saying the party needs to focus on White People. Well Bernie, Black and Brown people showed up in big numbers and are the heart and soul of the party. If the Democrats don't focus on us and getting more of us out to vote then 2018 will be lost.

Again, it is time to acknowledge who is the real base of the Democratic Party and I say it is Black Women like me.
