Bernie Doesn't Own the Progressive Label

After hearing Bernie Sanders and his supporters try to eliminate Hillary Clinton from calling herself a Progressive I felt the need to weigh in on this discussion.  I vehemently oppose Bernie deciding that he can define who is a Progressive.

I classify myself as a Progressive and a moderate which Bernie has decided you can't be.  Well in my mind along with millions of others you can be.  Bernie's hard line leaves not just people like me as non-progressive but also President Obama.  This is a huge problem for Bernie Sanders and he appears to be quite tone deaf to it.  Those of us who are staunch supporters of President Obama don't appreciate Bernie's attitude regarding the Obama legacy and that is why he will struggle to increase his support among African American voters.

Bernie and his supporters keep talking about a revolution and I challenge them all to own it that they let President Obama down by sitting at home during the midterm elections in both 2010 and 2014 with disastrous results for the country.  This is the same group of people who supposedly are disappointed in President Obama's performance. Therefore I'm having a hard time hearing from the 18 to 30 year old crowd that they are going to lead this political revolution because they have no record of being reliable voters.  Until they do this is a moment and not a movement and certainly not a revolution.

If Bernie is going to lead the Democratic party it would serve him well not to write off the the millions of voters who see themselves as both Progressive and Moderates.
