Why the Jobs Numbers Should be Better

As happy as I am to see the jobs numbers today, let's not forget that the Obama administration accomplished this jobs growth in spite of the GOP not because of them.  The GOP led by Mitch Connell spent Obama's 1st term trying to make him a one term president.  Clearly that plan was a failure. 

President Obama's American Jobs act which was part of his deficit reduction plan would have added hundreds of thousands of jobs and increased teachers, fire fighters and policemen. But Nooo, the GOP wouldn't let this pass because they couldn't give the President any victories in an election year.

I know that I'm an outspoken liberal but those of you who are not part of the 1% need to rethink your support of the GOP as we start to prepare for the midterm elections. If you are working but are killing yourself at work so your company can have record profits and not give you a raise vote Democrat in 2014.  If you believe it's wrong for large companies like GE to pay no taxes because our tax code is slanted toward the rich then vote Democrat in 2014.

It's good to see that more jobs are being created and the economy is getting better but it should be even better than it is.  If we get the obstructionists out of Congress maybe the rest of us might have a chance to participate in the upturn in the economy.

Where Do We Go From Here?

Where is the Democratic Party going from the epic loss in 2016? Well that depends on who you ask. Bernie Sanders and his most rabid supporters like Susan Sarandon tell Democrats that we need to bow down to white working class voters and only depend on small donor contributions. According to them and the left wing purists, if we take money from rich progressive celebrities and progressive billionaires like Bill and Melinda Gates then we're no better than the Republicans. Well, as a 57 year old African American woman from Louisiana (one of the reddest states) living in Massachusetts (one of the bluest states) I can look at this question from both sides. The Real Base of the Democratic Party

We now see the outcome of listening to the dopes like Susan Sarandon who said there was no real difference between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. However, they don't want to own the stupidity they exhibited in the lead up to the 2016 election. As a Black Woman who is about to celebrate her 58th birthday I consider myself part of the real base of the Democratic Party.  96% of Black Women voted for Hillary Clinton. 53% of college educated White Women voted for Trump.  So somebody tell me why in the Hell am I going to listen to this group telling me how my Party needs to change. As the Mother of a Millennial here's my message to them.
